# Organization settings in place

Organization settings live in **Account settings**, in the same rail as the rest of your settings, in every account. There is no separate organization page and no organization button in the account switcher.

Organization administrators can open **Account settings → Organization** while working in the organization or one of its child accounts. **Accounts** shows active and archived accounts and lets administrators add accounts and manage each account's lifecycle. **Members** manages organization access. **Plan & billing** is the organization's one billing home, so it no longer also appears under the account's own settings.

* In the organization itself, **Plan & billing** opens the full Plan & billing page, and **Members** is the only member list; the account section does not repeat either one.
* In a child account, **Plan & billing** opens the organization's full Plan & billing page right there, without switching accounts. Payment methods, plan selection, contracts and media billing changes all apply to the organization. Payouts stay per storefront: the **Payouts** tab shows the child account's own payouts, read-only, notes that the organization manages them, and offers an **Open** action for that organization's billing, which switches into the organization to change them. The child account's own **Members** stays under the account.
* Older links to the account's Plan & billing or, in the organization itself, its Members open the matching **Organization** pane.
* Older billing links (`/billing`, `/admin/billing`, `/storefront-billing` and the Billing view) open Plan & billing in one step, on the tab the link asked for. The setup checklist's **Payment & billing** row opens the same pane.
* Opening the organization itself takes an organization administrator straight to **Account settings → Organization → Members**. Older Organization settings links (`/org-settings`) open the matching **Organization** pane in one step. Organization members who are not administrators keep their organization dashboard.

### API keys and Advertisers

In the organization itself, an organization administrator finds **API keys** and **Advertisers** under **Organization**, and the account section no longer repeats **API keys**. **API keys** holds the organization's API credentials. **Advertisers** is the organization's advertiser roster, which includes the advertisers of its accounts. The **API keys** and **Advertisers** pages, and older links to the account's API keys, open these panes in one step.

In a child account, **API keys** stays under the account and shows that account's own credentials, and the **Advertisers** page stays where it is. Open the organization itself to manage the organization's keys and roster.

Members who are not administrators keep the pages they use today.

## Standalone accounts

A standalone account has one settings context, so its administrator sees the same functions in the account section, without an **Organization** label: **Accounts**, **Team**, **Plan & billing**, **API keys** and **Advertisers**. **API keys** and **Advertisers** pages open those panes in one step, and administrators also see any advertiser-scoped keys the **API keys** page listed. Older standalone Organization settings links open the matching Team or account-level Plan & billing section.

**Accounts** is where a standalone administrator adds another account. Adding one also creates an organization that manages both accounts; the dialog explains what moves to the organization and asks you to confirm before anything changes. Creation follows the [account-capacity rules](/v2/account-capacity).

## The account switcher

The account switcher in the top bar only switches between accounts. It lists the accounts you can open and any pending invitations, and it appears only when there is somewhere else to go: an account other than the one you are in, or an invitation. An organization is never an entry of its own; working in the organization itself, you open one of its accounts from the switcher. If you work in one account and have no invitations, it does not appear.

Adding an account, organization members and organization billing are not in the switcher; they are in **Account settings**. Switching to another organization opens one of its accounts you chose from the list, never an account picked for you.

## Who can use it

| You are | What you see under **Organization** |
| - | - |
| A direct administrator of the organization | **Accounts**, **Members**, **Plan & billing**, and, in the organization itself, **API keys** and **Advertisers** |
| A member of the organization who is not an administrator | No Organization section. Opening the organization shows its dashboard. |
| A member or administrator of a child account only | One read-only row, **Managed by** followed by the organization name. It opens a limited notice that identifies the organization managing billing; it does not expose organization members, account lists, contracts, rates, payment information, or organization standing. |
| An administrator of a standalone account | No Organization label; the same functions appear in the account section (see [Standalone accounts](#standalone-accounts)). |

Advertiser-scoped access, API keys and service credentials never show the Organization section. Every organization pane and action also checks your access on the server, so a link or bookmark cannot open organization data you could not otherwise see.

<Note>
Apostra platform administrators who are not members of an organization do not get the Organization section in it. Opening such an organization shows them its administration page instead.
